Story book Illustration

The brief was to create two characters with specific characteristics (boots and sailor dress for the little girl, cute characterisation for the woodlouse). We were required to design 12 illustrations, for the text that was provided to us by the college.  I also had to set the text, choosing the typeface The story was aimed at 3-6 year olds, so this crosses over the age group where children cannot, are learning to and then can read.  With my background of a degree in Education and English, I was able to apply this to understanding how to set out the text and make the illustrations visually appealing.  This was my final project for the course and I found that with my love of story telling through word and pictures, it was a  joy. I would love to have the opportunity to do this in the real world!
